Optometrist Meet Dr. Appelman Dr. Appelman has been serving St. Charles County since 1986, when he opened his first office on Mid Rivers Mall Drive. He prides himself on providing a very thorough eye evaluation and educating patients about their vision condition. His care is rooted in careful listening, practical guidance, and helping patients understand the best path for their long-term eye health. Education & Professional Memberships Dr. Appelman grew up in St. Louis and received his degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska in 1981. He graduated in 1985 from the University of Missouri with a Doctor of Optometry degree on the Dean's List with honors. He is a member of the St. Louis Optometric Society, the Missouri Optometric Society, and the American Optometric Association. Clinical Care Dr. Appelman enjoys managing and preventing many vision and eye health conditions, including dry eyes, ocular allergies, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. He also provides low vision services for the visually impaired, co-manages patients interested in laser vision correction, and excels in prescribing many types of specialty contact lenses.
